The place of parental nutrition literacy in prevention of NCDs

Health literacy is a stronger predictor of health than age, income, education, race and employment. The interest to this topic has grown remarkably during the past decade, still there’s not enough studies focused on the specific part of health literacy – nutrition literacy (NL). At the same time, it is known that poor diet contributes significantly to development of NCDs and increase in premature deaths rates. Obesity in children remains an important public health problem globally.
